Structured DFM Process
Structured DFM Process for the Development of Industrial Projects
Industrial projects often fail even before production starts — not due to a lack of commercial interest, but because technical requirements, manufacturing constraints, and project responsibilities are not clarified early enough.
At Hexa-I-Care, we have implemented a structured DFM process in our CRM to support our industrial partners in the development of cross-border projects.
The objective is clear: to ensure that design, manufacturing, purchasing, and sales teams work from the outset on the same technical basis.
Our DFM workflow follows a controlled project logic:
01 – Fixed Specifications
Clarification of customer requirements, technical specifications, plans, tolerances, materials, and expected industrial performance.
02 – Tooling Design
Alignment between product requirements, industrial feasibility, tooling concept, and cost factors.
03 – Tooling Realisation
Monitoring of technical decisions, open points, supplier coordination, and project milestones.
04 – Try-out
Support during testing, validation, correction loops, and initial production feedback.
05 – Transfer
Structured passage to repeatable production, with documentation and long-term project tracking.
This process helps to reduce information breaks, avoid loss of technical precision, and strengthen alignment between engineering teams, purchasing services, and industrial partners.
For the partner, the approach remains transparent: project status, open technical points, actions, milestones, and documentation can be systematically tracked.
DFM is not just a technical method.
It is a structured way to secure industrial cooperation before the project reaches production.
Hexa-I-Care supports engineering-oriented companies as an interface partner for Franco-German cooperation and more broadly European.
